Position Summary
The position requires technical work in installing, repairing, and maintaining data infrastructures, including fiber and copper, and installing and supporting technology services and products. Work involves determining various types of malfunctions and repairing and installing structured cabling components for wide area and local area network infrastructures. Duties include but are not limited to the following and Kinetix Management Team may assign additional tasks.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Infrastructure
- Review infrastructure requests to determine the extent of needed service
- Scope and create parts list for new projects
- Work with the Sales team to identify new opportunities and bid new jobs, including walk-thru and assessments
- Work with Project Managers to efficiently manage infrastructure requests within larger project scopes
- With assistance, use construction drawings, schematic diagrams, code and system-defined standards to move or install new data infrastructure
- Knowledge of utilizing equipment and tools
- Pull various types of cable according to pathway, install related structure cable components, and complete necessary terminations
- Use testing devices and system-defined standards to test compliance requirements and document results
- Use testing devices or other methods to determine connection issues and apply corrective action to provide enhancement and/or correct problem; may make appropriate service calls or refer complex problems to the Project Manager
- Minor network configurations with switches and VLANS
- Review infrastructure requests to determine the extent of needed service
- Field Services
- Knowledge of personal computers utilizing various Windows operating systems and software
- Basic understanding of Access Points, Switches, Firewalls, and other miscellaneous devices
- Various PC applications such as MS Office, Email Clients, web browsers, and productivity apps used by clients
- Printers, Scanners, USB and miscellaneous Ethernet devices
- Cabling CAT drops, racks, shelving, antennas, etc. as required
- DVRs, Cameras, Video Storage Devices
- Perform overall customer satisfaction concerning Company policy
- Promotes responsible usage and care of company equipment
- Perform overall customer satisfaction concerning company policy
- Ability to stay current with technology trends
This includes the above-referenced activities and additional assigned tasks to be performed at customer sites and from the Kinetix NOC.
Qualifications / Required Knowledge
- Physically able to operate a variety of equipment and tools, including testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Requires ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, lifts, and/or tight places
- Physical demand requirements for moderate work
- General knowledge of routers, switches, modems, and other communication hardware
- General knowledge of IP, cabling, and wireless network setup
- General knowledge of Windows, Internet Explorer, and Outlook
- General knowledge of anti-virus, firewalls, and other internet-related software
- Knowledge of Windows Server OS; DNS, Web, and Mail server functionality

- Valid Louisiana driver’s license with clean driving record

- Confidential, important, and/or proprietary technical information concerning the Company’s products and activities

- All customer information, including but not limited to the following: customer lists, proposals, invoices, financial statements, non-published price lists, trade secrets, and business models.
If the recipient makes unauthorized disclosures or misappropriates Confidential Information, the Company will be notified immediately, and the recipient will be considered in breach of the obligation.
