Level 2 System Administrator

Position Summary

The position is responsible for bridging the gap between entry-level support and senior system engineers, requiring strong problem-solving skills, experience with enterprise IT environments, and knowledge of IT security best practices. Configure and build Microsoft Servers, physical and virtual, that are under the direct management or ownership of Kinetix Technologies. This includes the install into customer networks as well as the monitoring and maintenance of these Server environments. Assists in troubleshooting network environments based on the Windows Server operating system. Builds and troubleshoots Server solutions within the Kinetix Hosted tenant environment including, but not limited to, Hosted Exchange support. Job scope also includes the research, design and implementation of Azure AD solutions for mobile workforces or those that run in a server-less structure. Duties include but are not limited to the following and Kinetix Management Team may assign additional tasks.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Advanced Troubleshooting, Configuring, Installation, Monitoring and Maintaining Servers under direct control of Kinetix including within the Hosted environment
  • Research, Configure, and Install associated applications as the company and customer needs require and evolve
  • User and Access Management controls for user accounts, permissions and security policies in AD and similar
  • Network and Security Administration of firewall configurations, VPN setups, and monitoring for security threats (including documentation management)
  • Vast knowledge of scripting and automations, utilizing languages guess such as PowerShell
  • Ensure data integrity through backups and recover planning
  • Utilize the Kinetix RMM Tool for monitoring and management of related devices in real-time
  • Be proactive in approach to Server monitoring and maintenance
  • Work alongside Cloud Engineer to research, configure and manage Azure AD and associated policy
  • Keep up with the workflow of service requests as assigned
  • Promote responsible usage and care of company equipment
  • Expected to support company and customer requests as directed
  • Perform overall customer satisfaction with regards to company policy
  • Ability to stay current with technology trends
  • Including above referenced activities, additional assigned tasks to be performed at customer site and from the Kinetix NOC.

Qualifications / Required Knowledge

  • Microsoft Certified Current– Server Operating Systems
  • HP or “other” WinTel Server Hardware in-depth knowledge
  • DHCP, DNS and all Windows Server Services associated with Windows Server Admin requirements
  • RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) Tools
  • Highly proficient in Windows Desktop OS
  • IP Networking Knowledge for LAN applications

  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Proof of US Citizenship

  • Dress and appearance should be business casual and grooming according to Kinetix Handbook and position
